Lilly Pulitzer After Party Sale

Hello everyone! Sorry for the lack of blog posts lately, things have been kind of hectic lately. First of, I moved into my apartment (yay finally!) and have spent the past week trying to get that put together. Also, I started my junior year of college Tuesday! I seriously cannot believe I am starting my third year of college, crazy. Once I get back into the swing of things with school and everything that's been going on I'm sure my blog posts will be more consistent. Now, on to today's post.

Today I am sharing my very first Lilly Pulitzer after party sale experience! I had a pretty good experience shopping the sale and hope you all did as well!

My Monday morning started off bright and early at 7am. I actually didn’t feel well the night before and ended up going to bed pretty early which caused me to wake up 45 minutes before my alarm! I spent the whole day before the sale researching and reading tips so I could be prepared for the after party sale. I did not want to come unprepared like I did for the Lilly for Target madness. #Disappointment

When 7:45am rolled around I opened up about 5 tabs on my Google Chrome browser, one my on safari browser and pulled up the Lilly website on my smart phone. After reading that there was going to be a virtual line for the sale I wanted to be sure I got a decent spot. Fifteen long minutes later 8 am finally rolled around. As soon as it hit 8 I refreshed every single Lilly page I had up only to find out there were 6438 people in front of me. *Insert shocked emoji here* The wait really wasn’t bad at all, I had to wait about 20 minutes before entering the sale and when I did I was so overwhelmed.

I scrolled through the sale section adding everything I liked in my size in my cart as quickly as I could. One shift dress here, an Elsa top there, maybe two or three shorts… After I went through everything at least 7 times I finalized my order and sent it in.  This process repeated four more times (whoops, sorry bank account). The urge to splurge was too real!

Here is what I ended up taking away from the sale.

Mila Lace Detail Shift dress // Skipper Printed Popover (love this one!) //Callahan Shorts in prep green pink (these are so cute!) // Agenda Tusk in Sun

What I managed to get from the sale was 1 shift dress, 1 popover (which I have been wanting for the longest time!), 1 pair of shorts and a new agenda! The only down side was I didn't know what size shorts I would be in Lilly Pulitzer so I just put in my regular size that I would get in American Eagle. Turns out the shorts are a size too big for me. /: I'm going to see if I can sell them to someone who would fit into them for the price I bought them or maybe try to see if I can get them tailored. We'll see what happens. Overall I am very pleased with what I got from the Lilly sale and glad I got to experience it!

How did your after party sale experience go down? Did you walk away with any goodies? Let me know down below!

Floral Friday

Romper: Target // Purse: Kate Spade (sold out in mint, cheaper option here) // Watch: Michael Kors (similar) // Gold Buckle Bangle: Dailylook // Eat Cake for Breakfast Bangle: Kate Spade

It is probably no surprise that I love floral print so naturally I instantly fell in love with this romper when I saw it. This romper is so light weight so it is perfect for summer. Also, this romper has an elastic waist so it is perfect for hitting up buffets (because that's an important thing to look for in a piece of clothing)! I know this is a pajama set, but the pattern is similar to the romper and I think it's super cute! I thought I would share.

Since this romper already had a pattern all over it I decided to pair it with some simple arm candy, gold sandals and my new Kate Spade purse! I'm so in love with this little purse, it is the perfect size for all the necessities. Also, how can you not love the pretty mint color? Too pretty.

Also, side note my brother moves into his dorm room today. *Tears* My brother heading off to college is making it so real to me that we are all growing up. Although I am sad that he's growing up so fast, I am excited for the next chapter of his life. On the plus side my brother will be living closer to me now!

Strappy crop top

Shirt: Charlotte Russe (on sale!) // Skirt: Forever 21 // Shoes: Forever 21 // Sunglasses: Nasty Gal (sold out) // Watch: Michael Kors (similar in all gold) // Bow Bangle: Kate Spade // Love Bangle: Forever 21 (similar)  // Silver Bangle: Forever 21 // Purse: Kate Spade (similar)

A couple of posts ago I mentioned how I am super picky with crop tops because I don't like them to be too tight or show off too much skin. Well here I am again to show you another crop top that I have found to meet my picky standards! First off, I am in love with the embroidery on this top. The design of it reminds me of something you would find on a vintage teacup. Also, I love the double straps this top has. It adds some nice detailing and gives the top a different look than your average spaghetti strap top. Oh, and this top is currently on sale! Head over to Charlotte Russe and check it out!

I paired this top with a royal blue high waisted skirt and some strappy silver sandals to go with the whole strappy theme the top gave off. This outfit was perfect for the extremely hot summer day we've been having here lately. Not gonna lie, I was so tempted to stick my head in the water fountain while we were out taking these photos. It was so hot!

Also, we saw a ton of beautiful butterflies out while we were taking these photos!

How pretty are they?? There were so many out flying around and I'm glad we managed to capture a couple photos of them. I hope you all are enjoying the rest of your week! One more day until Friday! (:

5 Clothing Essentials for College

Happy Wednesday everyone! I hope you all have been enjoying this mini back to school series! Today I am going to share my top five clothing essentials you need for college!

1. Workout clothes

Okay, let’s face it there are some days where you just don't want to dress up for class. Maybe it's that time of the month, or you're running late, or you are just too tired to put together a presentable outfit because you pulled an all nighter, it happens. Throwing on a pair of norts and a t-shirt is probably going to be your go to outfit on those "I don't feel like trying" days. It's also great for when you want to, you know actually workout.

2. A set of business appropriate outfit

This can be a combination of a nice white button down shirt, black blazer, pencil skirt, black slacks, nice dress, etc. Just have one whole professional looking outfit from top to bottom. You never know when you need to look nice for a presentation or go to an interview so it’s nice to have at least one nice outfit in the back of your closet. I picked up a cute pant suit from H&M and it's came in handy so many times!

3. Little black dress

I feel like this is so basic and so over said but there is a reason why everyone tells you that you need to have at least one little black dress in your closet! You can wear your little black dress with a colored blazer for a presentation, or pair it with some heels for a night out! LBDs are so versatile and are a perfect day to night transition piece (because who has time to pick out a separate day outfit for school and another outfit to go out at night?)!

4. Winter Gear

I’m talking about hats, scarfs, gloves, a thick jacket, and thick scarfs. Guys, walking half a mile to a mile to class in 2-degree weather is not fun. My first year of college I made the mistake of not packing any of my winter gear with me and froze my booty off everyday during the winter months. Be prepared and make sure you bring some winter gear to prevent getting frost bite on your walk to class. Plus, if you live in North Carolina like I do than it's nice to have these already on hand because the weather here changes with a flick of a wrist.

5. Comfy shoes

Be sure to bring comfy shoes! When you are walking all around campus the last thing you want is to have on shoes that hurt your feet. In high school I got away with wearing cute wedges pretty much every other day but there’s no way I could do that in college. My campus is filled with hills and stairs so comfy shoes are a must! My favorite shoes to wear are my Nike free runs, ballet flats and riding boots!

I hope this helped you guys out on what to pack for college! Have a great day everyone! (:

Yellow peplum top

Top: Pac Sun (similar) // Shorts: Target (similar) // Sandals: Shoe Show // Watch: Michael Kors (similar) // Bangles: Marshalls (similar) // Purse: Kate Spade (similar) // Sunglasses: Nasty Gal (sold out) // Necklace: Francesca's

Remember when peplum tops were everywhere and super trendy? I may be a little late on the trend, but I did finally find a peplum top that I actually like! There are so many things about this top that I love such as the bright yellow color, the eyelet through out and of course the open back. I'm such a sucker for back details.

I decided to pair this top with this beautiful royal blue statement necklace that I picked up from Francesca's. I just love the color of it and it is a nice contrast against the bright yellow top. I paired this top with some light navy shorts from Target for a perfect day look. I also think this top would look great with some dark skinny jeans and brown wedges if you wanted to dress it up a little more!

P.S. Yesterday I got featured on the Red Dress Boutique Instagram page. Is it lame of me getting fan girl / excited over that? Haha. I just thought I would share!
